Kim Deal appeared at Chicago's Reckless Records on April 19 as part of Record Store Day. During a brief acoustic set, Deal played an acoustic version of Pixies' song, “Gigantic", which Stereogum claim is her first performance of the song since leaving the band. Kim was joined by her sister Kelley on electric guitar for a version of the Breeders' “Cannonball”.

Kim Deal has revealed that The Breeders are working on new material. The group released their last full length album, Mountain Battles in 2008, followerd by an EP in 2009, "Fate To Fatal". After that, Deal put the band on hold while she went on a two-year tour with Pixies. The Breeders got together for a string of live dates last year, however, to mark the 20th anniversary of their 1993 album, Last Splash .

The Breeders performed two songs on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (May 7). Scroll down to watch their performance. Taking a break from their current US tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of 1993's Last Splash, the Kim Deal-fronted band performed their best-known song 'Cannonball', plus a web exclusive of 'Driving On 9'. 'Last Splash' was The Breeders' second album and would be the last the band recorded until 2002's 'Title TK'.
