Damon Albarn announces details of Africa Express album

Damon Albarn's Africa Express project has announced details of a new album release. Africa Express Presents: Maison Des Jeunes will be released digitally via Transgressive on December 9 with a physical release to follow in 2014. The project features contributions from Albarn, Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and Brian Eno, among others, after they spent time working with local musicians from Mali in October of this year.

My Bloody Valentine added to T In The Park line-up

My Bloody Valentine have been added to the T In The Park bill. The festival, which takes place in Balado, Kinross between July 12-14 will be headlined this year by Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers. Also included in the raft of artists set to appear are Foals, Haim, Phoenix, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris and Beady Eye, along with Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Dizzee Rascal and Kraftwerk.

The Cure’s Robert Smith contributes new song to Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie soundtrack

The Cure's Robert Smith has contributed a new track, "Witchcraft", to the soundtrack to Tim Burton's new film, Frankenweenie. The song is the only fourth track he has released under his own name. Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O and Flaming Lips will all feature on the soundtrack to the film. The soundtrack is released on September 25, the same day the film is released into cinemas. It features a total of 14 tracks, with The Flaming Lips, Plain White T's, Kimbra, Neon Trees, Skylar Grey, Grouplove and actress Winona Ryder all contributing tracks.

Swans announce new album featuring Karen O, Low

Swans are set to release a new album, featuring Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O and Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker of Low, on August 27. The Seer, the new album from Michael Gira's reunited New York noise-rock troupe, runs for around two hours, and also features guests including Mercury Rev's Grasshopper, Akron/Family and "honorary Swan" Bill Rieflin. Karen O sings lead vocal on "Song For A Warrior", while Parker and Sparhawk feature as co-vocalists on opener "Lunacy".

Josh Homme, Cat’s Eyes, UNKLE to feature on Grinderman remix album

'Grinderman 2 RMX' also features The National, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and A Place To Bury StrangersQueens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, Cat's Eyes and UNKLE have all contributed remixes to a new Grinderman remix album. Released on March 12, 'Grinderman 2 RMX' is a "collection of remixes, reinterpretations and collaborations" based on the now defunct band's 2010 album 'Grinderman 2'.
