Wu Tang Clan producer RZA wants to put the band back together to mark the 20th anniversary of their highly-regarded debut album, 'Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)', reports New York Times – and this time he wants the band to be more professional. RZA, who is currently promoting his film The Man With The Iron Fists, says making the movie showed him the power of "what a focused mind can do".

The Black Keys and RZA of the Wu Tang Clan have teamed up for a new song, "The Baddest Man Alive". The song is taken from the soundtrack to the forthcoming movie The Man With The Iron Fists, which was written and directed by RZA, real name Robert Fitzgerald Diggs. The kung-fu movie is set for a US release next month (November 2).

So I arrived at work this morning with the plan to write about the pretty fine new Wu-Tang Clan album. I’ve been momentarily distracted, though, by the discovery that Def Jam are streaming the entire new Ghostface Killah album on their website.

I was talking the other day to an Uncut writer, a hip-hop expert actually, about what a disappointing year it had been for rap in general. I suppose I'm a bit of a dilettante in this area, but looking back over the year's blogs, I can find scant reference to much hip-hop at all; certainly nothing to match the Clipse and Ghostface Killah albums from last year.
