The Horrors and The Enemy: from the sublime to the successful

Finally making it onto the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival site, we ran and caught two new(ish) groups, The Horrors and The Enemy. Despite both being bigged up by the NME, the groups share little in common and have slagged each other off in the press. A fan standoff awaits?

Biffy Clyro, CSS and Klaxons defy Glastonbury rain

Apologies for late posting, but got carried away round at the Other Stage, there was a nice run of back-to-back bands that it would have been churlish to try and wade back to the press area. Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro were as good as I'd hoped they'd be.

Return to The White Stripes and “Icky Thump”, and other business

What seems like several months since I heard The White Stripes' "Icky Thump", I finally had a few more listens to it over the weekend. Reassuringly, my usual hysterical over-excitement seems to have been pretty justified.
