Reading: Who was rip-roaring and who was rubbish?

We’re back home after three days in a field by the Thames, clothes have been washed and hangovers nursed, so it must be time to discuss who rocked Uncut’s world at the Carling Weekend: Reading Festival and who rocked the boat of musical excellence…

So we’re back in England, and the sun of this year’s Fib seems a hazy, distant memory: What were your favourite moments? Here...

The International Festival de Benicassim is over, and we're back in a grisly ill-weathered England - craving sunshine, and the return of destroyed brain cells... Muse, closed the Fib festival with great space rock aplomb - the soaring nature of the trio combined with their spectacular video projections that included giant marching robots and melted acid-like views from the stage - proved to be amazing.

Human League, and the mass herding towards the Arctic Monkeys

Very quick blog, must head out to the Arctic Monkeys, who have just gone on the mainstage, incredibly loudly. Having just come over from seeing The Human League, what a difference! Whilst the League were playing 'Human', the tent just literally started emptying - a quick check of the clock, the Arctic effect has just taken place once again. The whole of Benicassim, literally, is herding towards the mainstage towards Alex Turner and the boys who are tonight's headliners. The site is deserted from the far end down. This is going to be immense. Eep.
