Watch Kim and Kelley Deal perform Pixies, Breeders songs at acoustic show

Kim Deal appeared at Chicago's Reckless Records on April 19 as part of Record Store Day. During a brief acoustic set, Deal played an acoustic version of Pixies' song, “Gigantic", which Stereogum claim is her first performance of the song since leaving the band. Kim was joined by her sister Kelley on electric guitar for a version of the Breeders' “Cannonball”.

Robert Plant, Jack White, Pixies, The Black Keys and Wilko Johnson are among 87 names confirmed this morning [April 4] for this year's Glastonbury festival, which takes place from June 27 to 29. Pixies to release first album in 23 years

Pixies have announced details of Indie Cindy, their first new album in 23 years. The album will be released on April 28 and comprises of the EPs, 'EP1' and 'EP2', released in September 2013 and January 2014 respectively, plus 'EP3'. Indie Cindy marks the first time all three releases have been available as one collection.

Pixies have unveiled the video for their track "Greens And Blues" – watch it below. The video was written and directed by Josh Frank, who authored the book Fool The World, the Oral History of the Band Called Pixies. Mel Rodriguez (Panic Room, Little Miss Sunshine, The New Normal) stars as "the last remaining man on a lonely planet, left behind to wander the desolate landscape marking his time and documenting the history of a once great civilization on its corroding walls and on his decaying mind, waiting for "them" to return", according to a statement.

Pixies’ Black Francis on firing Kim Shattuck “it ain’t that big of a deal”

Last week, Kim Shattuck expressed "shock" at being fired from Pixies. Shattuck's replacement is Paz Lenchatin, who has previously played with Zwan and A Perfect Circle. Speaking to Yahoo, Black Francis has spoken about the hirings and firings.

Kim Shattuck on Pixies exit: ‘I would have preferred it if they told me face to face’

Kim Shattuck has discussed her exit from Pixies for the first time, revealing that she was told the news over the phone by the band's manager. Shattuck was relieved of her duties as bass player in the band in November after joining in the summer as replacement for founding member, Kim Deal. Speaking in this week's NME, which is available digitally and on newsstands now, Shattuck reveals that she was not expecting to leave the band, having agreed verbally to tour with them into 2014.

Pixies name Paz Lenchatin as new bassist

Pixies have confirmed that bassist Paz Lenchatin, will replace Kim Shattuck for a series of live dates in America and Europe next year. Last week Shattuck revealed that her time playing with the band had come to an end. She, herself, was a replacement for original Pixies bassist Kim Deal who departed the band prior to the release of the group's 'EP1' earlier this year. Lenchatin has previously played with Billy Corgan's Zwan as well as A Perfect Circle and The Entrance Band.

Kim Shattuck leaves Pixies

Kim Shattuck has revealed that her time playing with Pixies has come to an end. The bass player joined the band this summer after Kim Deal left the band. She posted the news of her departure on Twitter and Facebook, saying she was "disappointed" with the decision.

Watch Pixies new video for “What Goes Boom”

Pixies have revealed the video for "What Goes Boom", the latest track from their EP-1 release to be given a music video. The video, which you can see below, features guitarist Joey Santiago and is set in the desert. It follows videos the band have made for the tracks "Indie Cindy" and "Andro Queen", which also feature on EP-1, released earlier this year.
