Kim Deal ‘welcome to rejoin Pixies’

Kim Deal is welcome to rejoin Pixies if she wants to, drummer Dave Lovering has told NME. The band parted ways with Deal earlier this year and then replaced her with Kim Shattuck, who has previously played with The Muffs and The Pandoras. However, in a new interview with NME Lovering extends an olive branch to the bass player.

The Pixies debuted a number of new songs at a surprise show at the Echo in Los Angeles on Friday [September 6]. The band are due to begin their world tour tonight [September 9]. According to Slicing Up Eyeballs, the band played six new songs, among them "Bagboy" and three songs - "Another Toe", "What Goes Boom" and "Indie Cindy" - from EP-1, which the band released last week.

Pixies release brand new four-track EP and video – watch

Pixies have released a brand new EP and video today (September 3). The four-track EP, titled EP-1, was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales and was produced by Gil Norton, who also helmed previous Pixies releases Dolittle (1989), Bossanova (1990) and Trompe Le Monde (1991). Also released today is the first video from the EP, for the track "Indie Cindy", which you can watch below. Pixies announce four UK and Ireland dates with new bassist Kim Shattuck

Pixies have announced four UK and Ireland dates this November (2013) as part of the first leg of a "massive world tour". They'll be joined on the tour by new bassist Kim Shattuck, who's previously played with The Muffs and The Pandoras. Original bass player Kim Deal confirmed she was leaving the band earlier this month (June). The new Pixies line-up will play Dublin's Olympia on November 18, before crossing the Irish Sea for gigs at Manchester Apollo on November 21, Glasgow's Barrowland on November 22 and London's Hammersmith Apollo on November 24.

Pixies have released a new song, Bagboy". It is the band's first new material since "Bam Thwok", from June 2004. Scroll down to hear "Bagboy". The track is available to stream now and can also be downloaded for free from the band's website. It is also the first release from the band since Kim Deal announced her departure from Pixies last month.

Pixies give away free four-track EP

Pixies are giving away a new free EP from their official website. The EP consists of four live tracks which were recorded during the band's set at Coachella in 2004, including their hit singles "Monkey Gone To Heaven" and "Caribou" and is available to be downloaded now from Pixiesmusic.com.

Pixies Announce Doolittle European Tour

Including four nights at London's Brixton AcademyPixies have confirmed a UK and Ireland tour, at which they will play the entirety of Doolittle to mark it's 20th anniversary. The band comprising Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering and Kim Deal, will play classic album Doolittle in full before a 'best of' set. Tickets go on sale on Friday July 3, at 9am. Pixies will play: Dublin Olympia (October 1, 2) Glasgow SECC (4)
