The Hacienda, the Manchester nightclub co-owned by New Order, has announced that it will be hosting three one-off events to celebrate the club's 30th anniversary.
The events, which are named X1, X2 and X3, will take place in late May and early June. The first will take place in the car park of the Hacienda, which is now a block of apartments. The other events will happen in the city's Sankeys nightclub.

When the Manhattan branch of the Standard Hotel opened for business in summer 2009, it instantly became the hot topic of conversation among New Yorkers. Not as you might think for its stunning views across the Hudson river – but because people were flocking to the park below to watch guests having sex in front of the hotel’s floor to ceiling windows.
While John and Farah were riffing it up at Led Zeppelin last night, I went to see Ridley Scott's latest and, presumably, Final Cut of Blade Runner, one of my favourite films. For a cold and drizzly Monday night viewing at the Screen On The Green in Islington, it was remarkably busy -- unsurprisingly, the audience conspicuously all male, pretty much all of them, like me, glued to the screen.
