Morrissey has released an official statement regarding the death of former British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher.
The singer released his comments to fansite True To You yesterday (April 9) following Thatcher's death yesterday at the age of 87.
In the strongly worded statement, Morrissey wrote:
Thatcher was not a strong or formidable leader. She simply did not give a shit about people, and this coarseness has been neatly transformed into bravery by the British press who are attempting to rewrite history in order to protect patriotism.
The Columbia Albums Collection, the new 17-album boxset from Blue Öyster Cult, is reviewed in the new issue of Uncut, dated April 2013, and out now. Yeah Yeah Yeahs made their live return in New York over the weekend, performing new material to a crowd of just 70 people.
The band performed live at the Union Pool venue as part of a benefit show for the victims of hurricane Sandy on Saturday night (December 8). All money raised from the gig was donated to Waves 4 Water. Support on the night came from Higgins Waterproof Blackmagic, a side project from TV On The Radio's Tunde Adebimpe.
