Johnny Cash's childhood home has been opened to the public, as part of a bid to boost the town he grew up in.
Cash moved into the house in Dyess, Arkansas, in 1935 when he was three. The town was an experiment in president Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal programme, which aimed to help the US economy bounce back from the Great Depression. The Cashes were among 500 families specially selected by the initiative to be given a small home, some farm land, money and a mule to try and rebuild their lives.
A 1964 album by Johnny Cash, Bitter Tears: Ballads Of The American Indian, has been re-recorded to mark its 50th anniversary.
The album, which was originally envisaged as a concept album to highlight the mistreatment of Native Americans, has been reinterpreted by artists including Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Emmylou Harris and Kris Kristofferson.
Johnny Cash's son Johnny Cash has revealed that there is enough material left in the archives of his late father for several more posthumous albums and enough outtakes from the American Recordings sessions to fill another multi-disc box set.

It was revealed earlier this month that the late singer's estate had decided to release the album, which is made up of 12 previously unheard tracks and will be out on March 24, 2014. The songs, which were recorded in Nashville, Tennessee in 1981 and 1111 Sound Studios in 1984, were discovered by his son John Carter Cash at the Sony Music Archives.
