The Stone Roses have announced plans for one-off gig in Dubai next year.
The reformed Manchester band will play the Media City Amphitheatre on February 21, 2013. Tickets for the concert go on sale on Sunday (November 18). Fans can register for tickets at Thestonerosesdubai.com.
The band are also set to play two shows at Finsbury Park in London and another at Glasgow Green in June next year. Support for the Glasgow show includes Primal Scream, Jake Bugg and The View. Support for the London shows will be announced shortly.
It’s perhaps a strange moment of symmetry, but earlier I was fortunate enough to catch some of Fever Ray’s set, also in the UNCUT Arena. Clearly, there’s some parity between Karin Dreijer Andersson and Natasha Khan. Both own a significant debut to Kate Bush, and both are convincing exponents of their own, fantastic interior world.

As yesterday, I’m pretty preoccupied with the new Animal Collective record that has turned up. It’s called “Merriweather Post Pavilion”, I think it might be my first favourite record of 2009, and if I can get my thoughts in some sort of order I’ll blog about it tomorrow.
