Paul Weller: “I won’t be taking part in Record Store Day again”

Paul Weller has said that he won't be taking part in Record Store Day in the future after seeing his 2014 release sold online at vastly inflated prices. Weller put out a one-off 7-inch, "A Brand New Toy" b/w "Landslide."", for this year's Record Store Day, which took place on Saturday (April 19). As with a majority of other releases this year, copies of the record appeared on eBay later that same day while other fans complained of the release being sold out as soon as record shops opened their doors.

Suede to release “lost” single for Record Store Day

Suede are to release their "lost" single, "Let Go", on 7" vinyl on Record Store Day 2014 (april 19). The track was originally issued as a CD single in Sweden in 1999. The Record Store Day 7” single (backed with "Heroin") coincides the release of the Suede 7” Singles Box Set on April 14, but will not be included in it. David Bowie announces Record Store Day releases

David Bowie will release two limited edition picture discs on Record Store Day next month. The annual celebration of music shops will take place on April 19 and Bowie has outlined plans to release a 7" picture disc of "Rock 'n' Roll Suicide" in the UK, while North American fans will be able to purchase the single "1984" on 7" picture disc.

Neil Young to reissue Time Fades Away for Record Store Day

Neil Young is reportedly reissuing his live album, Time Fades Away, on Record Store Day. The album, from 1973, has long been out of print and has never been released on CD. In 2010, Time Fades Away was listed No 1 in Uncut's 50 Great Lost Albums – a chart if records that were unavailable new or as legal downloads at the time of writing.
