Blur swap places with The Stone Roses to headline weekend two of Coachella Festival

The Stone Roses will no longer be topping the bill at this weekend's Coachella Festival in California as they did last Friday. Blur - who opened for the Manchester legends on the festival's main stage on April 12 – will now close the Coachella Stage this Friday (April 19) on the second weekend of the festival.

Mick Jagger: ‘The Rolling Stones aren’t gonna do Coachella’

Mick Jagger has confirmed to NME that The Rolling Stones will not be playing the Coachella festival in 2013, despite strong rumours suggesting they would. Addressing the rumours that the legendary rock'n'rollers will be playing the California bash, Jagger said: "We're not gonna do Coachella, 'cos it's too early. There was a rumour we were gonna do that one, but it's very early, Coachella. It's April or something, isn’t it? And we're not gonna be ready to go by April. But we're not gonna stop."

Manic Street Preachers confirm new album plans

Manic Street Preachers have confirmed they have started work on a new album. The Welsh trio, who left their future plans uncertain after a greatest hits show at London's O2 Arena last year, are currently working on their 11th studio album according to frontman James Dean Bradfield. He told Bang Showbiz: "I'm trying to find a good word for the next record. I'm not going to say esoteric because no-one wants to hear that word, it's not even eclectic."

Manic Street Preachers confirm full details of ‘Generation Terrorists’ re-issue

Manic Street Preachers have confirmed full details of plans to re-issue their 1992 debut Generation Terrorists. The 18 track LP is being re-released on November 5 to celebrate the record's 20th anniversary. It will come in five different formats including a re-mastered single CD, a download version, plus two different special edition versions featuring unheard exclusive songs and demos, unseen film footage, home movies and unique artwork.

The Horrors’ Faris Badwan sets up record label with Cat’s Eyes partner Rachel Zeffira

The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan and his Cat's Eyes collaborator Rachel Zeffira have announced that they are setting up their own record label. RAF Recordings' first release will be Zeffira's solo debut LP The Deserters, which will be released on December 10. The Deserters was written and produced entirely by the Canadian multi-instrumentalist and features an all-star east London cast including krautrockers Toy and SCUM’s drummer Mel Rigby. Pulp, Hot Chip, Warpaint, Black Lips and James Murphy to headline Coachella Cruise

The organisers of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have announced that they will be launching a Coachella cruise, which is due to set sail in December. Headlined by Pulp, Hot Chip, Warpaint and Grimes, the luxury liner, called the S.S. Coachella, will head to the Bahamas between December 16-19 and then to Jamaica December between 19-23. Prices start at £320 ($500). Organisers are already touting a series of at-sea activities, including DJ tutorials and wine tastings hosted by former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy.

Radiohead's Thom Yorke joined Modeselektor on stage at the final night of Coachella last night [April 22]. The singer performed at the end of the German electro duo's set to perform "Shipwreck", from their latest album Monkeytown, contributing vocals to "This" and "Shipwreck".

Radiohead headline second day of Coachella Festival 2012

Radiohead headed up the bill at the second day of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California yesterday [April 14]. The band, who previously headlined the festival in 2004, opened their set with "Bloom" from their 2011 album, The King of Limbs, following it with "15 Step". As well as airing "Lotus Flower", the band also played new song "Identikit".

The Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, Pulp play on day one of Coachella festival

The Black Keys brought day one of this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival to close last night (April 13). The California event, which is running with the same three-day bill on two consecutive weekends this year, got off to a wet and windy start.
