Extinct water pig with ‘tactile lips’ named after Mick Jagger

An extinct 'water pig' with 'tactile lips' has been named after Mick Jagger. The 19-million-year-old anthracotheres - a species which has been likened to a kind of 'long-legged pig' - was named in honour of The Rolling Stones frontman because of its "tactile lips". Recently discovered in Egypt thanks to the finding of pieces of fossilised jaw, it has been named Jaggermeryx naida, which means 'Jagger's water nymph'.

Jagger revealed that he doesn't have any plans to follow Keith Richards' best-selling 2010 autobiography, Life. "I think the rock'n'roll memoir is a glutted market. I'd rather be doing something new," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "I'd rather be making new films, making new music, be touring. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards blue plaque for Dartford station

The spot where Mick Jagger and Keith Richards first met is to be marked with a plaque. The pair first met at a railway station on Kent on October 17, 1961 when they were teenagers. The recognised each other because they had both gone to Wentworth Primary School before Jagger went onto study at Dartford Grammar. Richards was traveling to Sidcup Art College carrying his guitar on the day they met, while Jagger was en route to the London School of Economics carrying some records. The next year, they formed The Rolling Stones.
