Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds have announced details of their new album 'Push The Sky Away' - watch a trailer for it below. The LP will be the band's fifteenth studio album and will be released on February 19, 2013. It follows 2008's 'Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!' and was recorded by regular Bad Seeds and Grinderman collaborator Nick Luanay at La Fabrique studios, based in a 19th century mansion in the south of France.

The band revitalise Obelisk crowd after annoying rain fall

“Thank you, photographers,” says Nick Cave to the snappers in the pit in front of the stage, pointing to his right cheek. “Only print the ones from this side of my face.” It’s a rare moment of light-hearted banter, although he does later decline a punter’s song request, claiming the track in question has “too many chords for old men like us!”. It would appear he and The Bad Seeds are a little fatigued, after promoting Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! for the best part of 18 months, but they’ve still got just about enough in the tank to bring Latitude to a memorably electrifying close.

First four albums remastered with new short films

This gig is being recorded for BBC Four and, as with this kind of thing, there’s something slightly odd about tonight’s proceedings. We’re in the splendid hall of a restored 18th century church, sitting around tables, mindful of the cameras and lengths of cables snaking across the floor, practising clapping for the Assistant Stage Manager. If “live” is a spontaneous celebration of the power of rock’n’roll, then we’re a long way from Kansas, Toto. It is, arguably, a somewhat incongruous environment to see Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds play, anyway.
