A backbone of hip hop beats and stuttering electro map out rustic guitar pickings, flailing jazz and even sweeping classical flourishes. Rutledge’s dextrous electronic patchwork can be masterful, though his melodic direction needs a sturdier anchoring. A name, however, to be conjured with.
