Damon Albarn announces track listing for solo LP

Damon Albarn has announced the title and release date for his forthcoming solo album. Albarn will release Everyday Robots on April 28. He posted the news on his Twitter page along with the LP's artwork. He wrote: New @DamonAlbarn album #EverydayRobots out 28 April. Title track video Everyday Robots premieres tomorrow.

Damon Albarn releases teaser for debut solo album

A 20-second teaser for Damon Albarn's forthcoming solo album has been uploaded to the performer's official YouTube account. Shot in black and white, the video shows Albarn, from behind, playing a keyboard topped with two skulls and a stuffed owl. Following shots of musical instruments and recording equipment, the text reads "Damon Albarn, first solo album, coming 2014". Click below to watch.

Damon Albarn announces details of Africa Express album

Damon Albarn's Africa Express project has announced details of a new album release. Africa Express Presents: Maison Des Jeunes will be released digitally via Transgressive on December 9 with a physical release to follow in 2014. The project features contributions from Albarn, Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and Brian Eno, among others, after they spent time working with local musicians from Mali in October of this year.

Damon Albarn to present Radio 2 show

Damon Albarn will make his radio presenting debut this Saturday (October 5). The frontman will be covering for regular presenter Dermot O'Leary on his BBC Radio 2 show, which airs at 3pm. The BBC states that Albarn will be playing music "from all over world", and will also be joined by actor Idris Elba as well as Paul Simonon, Ken Dodd and a Pentecostal Choir.

Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Paul Weller, Michael Horovitz collaborate for Record Store Day releases

Poet Michael Horovitz has teamed up with Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon and Paul Weller for a pair of Record Store day releases. The quartet will appear on Horovitz' single, "Ballade Of The Nocturnal Commune" / "Extra Time Meltdown", which will be released by London-based vinyl-only jazz label, Gearbox Records. Weller, Albarn and Coxon will also appear on Horovitz' album Bankbusted Nuclear Detergent Blues, the title track of which was commissioned by Weller, who printed the text in the artwork for his 2012 album Sonik Kicks.

Damon Albarn to appear on every BBC radio station at once

Damon Albarn has created an 'audio collage' to be simultaneously broadcast on every BBC radio station in the UK and worldwide to mark 90 years of radio. The simulcast, named Radio Reunited, will reach a potential global audience of 120 million people across every inhabited continent.

Damon Albarn plays secret show with Bobby Womack

Damon Albarn last night [October 1] performed a secret, last-minute show with soul singer Bobby Womack at the Notting Hill Arts Club. The impromptu gig was announced via the XL Recordings Twitter account on Friday evening [October 29], and followers were invited to email for the chance to win tickets.
