Suede have confirmed that they will play London's Alexandra Palace in March 2013. The band will perform at the north London venue on March 30. The gig announcement came at the end of a puzzle-style countdown Suede put on their Facebook page last week. The first revelation that came from the online game was that a new Suede studio album will be released in 2013. Earlier this autumn, Suede frontman Brett Anderson said that Suede's new album sounds like "a cross between bits of 'Dog Man Star' and bits of 'Coming Up'".

Blur's Alex James has revealed that he wants to work with Johnny Marr. Talking to the Daily Star, James – who is organising his own food and music event, The Big Feastival, from his Oxfordshire farm this weekend – said that while he wouldn't be interested in pursuing a solo career, he'd like to join Marr and Nile Rodgers in a supergroup. The former Smiths guitarist joined the Chic man onstage earlier this year at Manchester's Parklife Weekender, with Marr later hinting that the pair could continue their collaboration by entering the studio together.

Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner has admitted that he and drummer Matt Helders dressed up and pretended to be Oasis in their school assembly. Speaking to Pitchfork, the frontman named Oasis' 1995 album (What's The Story) Morning Glory as one of the LPs which had had the most influence upon him as a teenager, and revealed that he had performed tracks from the record in front of his peers while brandishing a tennis racquet.

When asked what tips he would give to new bands, his advice was to steer clear of Oasis covers: "Never cover Oasis. Never forget your friends. Always have a laugh." Queried further on why bands shouldn't cover Oasis, Kapranos replied: "Ach. Nothing personal. Just because everyone does. And they're so fucking boring."
