Arcade Fire covered iconic blues artist Bo Diddley during their gig in Chicago on August 26.
Diddley – who passed away in 2008 – was synonymous with the Chicago blues scene, and Arcade Fire paid tribute to the legend by playing his 1957 song ‘Who Do You Love?’ during the first of two shows at the city’s United Center. They have also covered fellow Canadian Feist’s ‘I Feel It All’ in Calgary, Alberta and Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” near Seattle. In addition they’ve performed tracks by Neil Young, Pixies, The Smiths and Echo And The Bunnymen.
Over the weekend they were joined by David Byrne for a performance of Suicide’s ‘Dream Baby Dream’ during a live show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The band opened their encore by welcoming onstage the Talking Heads lead vocalist who, in keeping with the Canadian group’s fashion sense, wore a smart tuxedo.
