A new song by The Avalanches has been revealed as part of a preview of the soundtrack to new musical version of King Kong. The stage version of King Kong will hit Australia's Regent Theatre in Melbourne from May 28 and comes with an illustrious list of musical contributions including Guy Garvey of Elbow, Massive Attack's 3D, Justice and The Avalanches.

Seeing as how Matthew E White and his band are on tour in the UK this week (I’m seeing him play in London tomorrow), it seemed a good time to post the feature about my visit to Richmond a couple of months ago. David Bowie is set to release a brand new track titled 'The Stars (Are Out Tonight)' on February 26. The singer, who will release his first new album in 10 years in March, posted a message on his official Facebook page at midnight February 17. The post did not include any concrete release details, but instead simply listed the date '02.26.13' and the title of the song along with a new picture, which you can see at the top of the page.

The Allah-Las make their UK debut in the back room of a north London pub on a freezing December night, the inhospitable weather not something familiar to in their native Los Angeles, where it probably only gets this cold in disaster movies, palm trees turning brittle with frost, the ocean becoming ice, CGI snow drifts on Sunset Strip and Denis Quaid in a parka and Bermuda shorts standing square-jawed and wrinkled-kneed against the elements.
