Pink Floyd announce 20th anniversary box set of The Division Bell

Pink Floyd are releasing a 20th anniversary box set of The Division Bell. The box set features six discs, including three replica coloured or clear vinyl discs, 5 collectors’ prints, a Blu-ray disc and for the first time Andy Jackson’s 5.1 audio mix of The Division Bell. The box set will be released on June 30. Released in 1994, The Division Bell was the last studio album to be released by the band, who consisted of David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright The Division Bell 20th anniversary box set tracklisting:

Musicians including David Gilmour, Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Philip Selway, Elbow's Guy Garvey, Johnny Marr and Billy Bragg have thrown their weight behind a campaign to overturn the ban on steel-strung guitars in British prisons.

University announces Pink Floyd academic conference

An American university is to host the world's first Pink Floyd academic conference. Called Pink Floyd: Sound, Sight, And Structure, the event will be held at Princeton University on April 13. According to a report on the website Open Culture, the keynote speaker at the event will be Pink Floyd producer and engineer James Guthrie.

Pink Floyd announce details of major retrospective exhibition

The Pink Floyd Exhibition – Their Mortal Remains will open in Milan’s La Fabbrica Del Vapore on September 19. The multi-media retrospective has been mounted with the active involvement and collaboration of David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Nick Mason.

Storm Thorgerson dies aged 69

Storm Thorgerson has died, aged 69. His family released a statement earlier today (April 18) saying he died peacefully earlier in the day, surrounded by family and friends. It read: "He had been ill for some time with cancer though he had made a remarkable recovery from his stroke in 2003. He is survived by his mother Vanji, his son Bill, his wife Barbie Antonis and her two children Adam and Georgia."

Pink Floyd deny Ed Sheeran duet at Olympics closing ceremony

Pink Floyd have denied Ed Sheeran's claim that he will duet with the rock legends at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The "+" singer had been rumoured to be joining The Who at the August 12 ceremony, but told Australian radio station Nova that he will in fact be playing with Pink Floyd.
