Arctic Monkeys’ Olympic cover of The Beatles’ ‘Come Together’ climbs download charts

Arctic Monkeys' cover of The Beatles' 'Come Together' is racing up the singles chart. The track – which featured as part of Danny Boyle's four-hour Olympic Opening Ceremony extravaganza on Friday – has climbed to Number 14 in the iTunes download chart. "Caliban's Dream" – the Underworld-penned track sung by Two Door Cinema Club frontman Alex Trimble is currently at Number Five.

The new issue of Uncut, which hits shelves today (July 27), features Joe Strummer, Captain Beefheart, Bob Dylan and Animal Collective. Strummer is on the cover, and inside is the story of the late Clash legend’s secret history – the wilderness years between the end of his group and his final creative rebirth. Captain Beefheart’s whole story is told by The Magic Band, while Bob Dylan’s live show at Hop Farm is reviewed and Animal Collective talk us through their back catalogue.

Band Of Horses announce November UK tour

Band Of Horses have announced a four-date UK tour for later this year. The band, who recently completed work on their fourth studio album, Mirage Rock, will play four shows on the tour in November. The trek begins at Birmingham's HMV Institute on November 15, before moving on to Glasgow's O2 Academy on November 16, Manchester Academy on November 19 and finally London's HMV Hammersmith Apollo on November 20.

Mick Jones to headline Strummer Of Love festival

The Clash's Mick Jones and his Justice Band have been confirmed to headline this summer's Strummer Of Love Festival. The festival, which takes place over the weekend of August 17 – 19, will be held at a secret location in Somerset and will mark the 10th anniversary of the death of The Clash frontman Joe Strummer.
