THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN
Not strictly the name of a band – they claim not to have one – but rather title of the debut LP by a supergroup of sorts, featuring Damon Albarn, Paul Simonon, former Verve guitarist Simon Tong and Afro-beat drummer, Tony Allen.
They headline the Obelisk Arena of the Latitude Festival on Saturday with their (mostly) downbeat, sepia-tinted pop homages to Albarn’s beloved London, which owe a debt to both The Kinks and The Clash and should sit in both happy harmony and engaging contrast with this most rural of settings.
The Good, The Bad And The Queen play Saturday July 14.
Latitude takes place July 12 – 15 at Henham Park, Southwold, Suffolk.
