The first four minutes of new Elliott Smith film Heaven Adores You have been revealed online. Scroll down to watch them. The film is the first full-length documentary with access to Smith's close circle of friends and was funded by a Kickstarter campaign.

Cat Power, Sky Ferreira, the Low Anthem and DIIV's Zachary Cole Smith will play an Elliott Smith tribute at Brooklyn's Glasslands on October 21 - the 10-year anniversary of Smith's death. Proceeds from the show will go to the Elliott Smith Memorial Fund, which benefits two charities: Portland's Outside In and Free Arts for Abused Children.

Reading a magazine this morning, I noticed that there are a bunch of tribute shows to Elliott Smith coming up; ostensibly I guess to commemorate the fact that, horrifyingly, the tenth anniversary of his death is coming up in a couple of months.

The mural featured on the cover of singer songwriter Elliott Smith's Figure 8 album has been repainted for the 9th anniversary of his death. The mural, which is in the Silverlake neighbourhood of Los Angeles, had been badly damaged by graffiti, but was repainted on Saturday (October 20) by a group called the Punk Rock Marthas.
