Previously: 100-81, 80-61, 60-41. As we’re nearly done with this now, can I start soliciting your own favourites of 2009?
I think last year I tried to compile a chart from your submissions, so if I get enough, I’ll have another go after Christmas. In the meantime, it may be worth pointing out that this is really not meant to be some cast-iron critical view of 2009, and anyone interpreting as such what is, ultimately a fairly arbitrary list of my favourite records, might just be taking it a tad too seriously. I’d like to pretend I spent days agonising over whether Sleepy Sun should be placed at 32 or 31, but ultimately it’s a rough snapshot of the things I liked most in 2009; maybe it might have been more honest – albeit not so much fun – to resist putting them in numerical order.
For something more substantial and, relatively, definitive – based on the lists of, if I remember right, 44 journalists – you should check out the Albums Of The Year charts in the current issue of Uncut. But anyway…
