David Bowie unveils his new project, Lazarus

James C. Nicola, the artistic director of New York Theater Workshop, said he was not sure how to describe the project — whether even to call it a musical — and said it been in secret development for some years. He said Mr. Bowie, who declined to comment, had been seeking to do a theatrical work inspired by Walter Tevis’s 1963 novel “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” and brought the idea to Mr. van Hove, who in turn brought the project to Mr. Walsh and to the New York theater. “It’s going to be a play with characters and songs — I’m calling it music theater, but I don’t really know what it’s going to be like, I just have incredible trust in their creative vision,” Mr. Nicola said. “I’m really excited about it. These are three very different sensibilities to be colliding.” Mr. Nicola said that the show, which is scheduled to open late this year, would not retell the story of the book and film, but would feature some of the same characters. Paul McCartney has shared his theme tune for the computer game 'Destiny'. The former Beatle worked on the score for the game and you can now listen to 'Hope For The Future' by clicking above. The first-person shooter is available for Playstation and Xbox now and saw McCartney working with a 120 piece orchestra at London's Abbey Road Studios on the theme, which is set to be released as a single. The orchestra was conducted by Beatles producer George Martin's son Giles and produced by Mark 'Spike' Stent.

Arcade Fire report theft of one of their papier mâché heads

The papier mâché head worn by Arcade Fire band member Richard Reed Parry as part of the band's live show has gone missing. The stage prop was taken during Reflektor Tour show in Bridgeport, Connecticut on March 18. A statement from the band, relayed by Brooklyn Vegan, states that the band have photos of the theft in progress. They are appealing for the return of the mask.

The Kinks musical to open in London in 2014

A musical based on The Kinks early career is set to open next year in London. Sunny Afternoon will be staged at Hampstead Theatre next year and has been scripted by Joe Penhall. BBC News reports that cast details have not yet been announced. The play premiered at the Theatre Royal in Stratford, east London back in 2008 and was supposed to tour a year later, but failed to.

The Black Keys announce festival date for 2014

The Black Keys are set to headline the The Heineken Open'er Festival 2014. The duo are the first band to be announced for the yearly event, which takes place in Gdynia, Poland. Next year's festival will take place from July 2-5, 2014. Tickets are already on sale at Opener.pl/en and more artists will be announced over the coming months. Bruce Springsteen and Roger Waters set for benefit show

Bruce Springsteen and Roger Waters are among the acts confirmed to take part in the Stand Up For Heroes benefit this November. The event takes place on November 6 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Springsteen and Waters both previously played at last year's Stand Up For Heroes/ benefit, which raising pledges for wounded troops battling the hardships of returning home from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
