The Who announce 50th anniversary tour dates

The Who have announced a UK tour to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary. The band's Who Hits 50 tour is being described by Pete Townshend as "Hits, picks, mixes and misses" and will see the band play their hit singles as well as tackling deeper cuts from their catalogue. On the tour announcement, Roger Daltrey said, “This is the beginning of the long goodbye."

The band posted a message on their official website in response to the news that Womack had died on Thursday (June 27), aged 70. Bobby Womack has died aged 70. According to a report on Rolling Stone, Womack's death was confirmed by a representative of his record label, XL Recordings. Although the cause of Womack's death is currently unconfirmed, he has been diagnosed with colon cancer in 2012 and was also reported to be suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
