Ain't in It for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm is now available to by as a download. It is available on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Movies On Demand and other leading digital outlets. It will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 2.

Levon Helm documentary due for release in America this month

A documentary about Levon Helm is due to air in America later this month. Called Ain't in It for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm, the documentary was directed by Jacob Hatley, who trailed Helm for two years during the recording of his Electric Dirt album. In a statement reported on Rolling Stone, Helm's collaborator and musical director Larry Campbell said, “Jacob was the perfect fly on the wall for many months as we experienced the ups and downs of a wonderful time in all our lives.”

Levon Helm Band to release ‘Midnight Ramble Sessions Vol 3’

A new CD featuring live songs from Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble house concerts, will be released on November 20, according to a report on Rolling Stone. Midnight Ramble Sessions Volume 3 is one of the last projects Helm completed before he died on April 19. He and producer Brendan McDonough are reported to have sifted through hundreds of gigs which took place at the Rambles held in Helm's Woodstock barn. Guests on the album include Chris Robinson and Allen Toussaint.

Bruce Springsteen brought to a close the first leg of his current world tour last night [May 2] in Newark, New Jersey, with a cover of The Band song, "The Weight", in tribute to drummer Levon Helm, who died two weeks ago. Speaking from the stage, Springsteen said of Helm: "He was one of the greatest, greatest voices in country, rockabilly and rock & roll. Levon's voice and drumming was so incredibly versatile. He had a feel on the drums... it comes from a certain place in the past and you can't replicate it."

Levon Helm to be buried next to former band mate

Levon Helm, the former Band drummer who died from cancer last Thursday [April 19], is to be buried next to his former band mate, Rick Danko. Last night [April 26], 2,000 mourners attended a wake for Helm at his Woodstock home, according to Associated Press. Helm's closed casket, in the second-floor studio of the barn where Helm hosted his Midnight Rambles, was surrounded by flowers and flanked by his drum kit and a piano.

Fans invited to pay their respects to Levon Helm at his Woodstock home

Fans of Levon Helm, who passed away last week at the age of 71, have been invited to his home and studio today [April 26] to pay their respects to the vocalist and drummer. A message posted on Helm’s website reads: "Levon's friends & fans are invited to pay their final respects on Thursday, April 26, 2012 between the hours of 10am. and 3pm. at his home/studio in Woodstock." It is here where Helm hosted his famous Midnight Ramble gigs.
