The surviving members of the Beastie Boys have won $1.7 million (£1.01 million) in their copyright lawsuit against Monster Beverage Corp.
The case centred on a video created by the corporation which used five Beastie Boys songs in a "Beastie Boys Megamix" and flashed the message "RIP MCA" on screen to promote a show in 2012 without the band's knowledge or permission. The late Adam 'MCA' Yauch stated in his will that his likeness or art, including his work with the Beastie Boys, was not to be used for advertising purposes.
Beastie Boy Mike D has released his first new music since the death of bandmate Adam Yauch.
The producer and rapper has uploaded a 10-minute-long mix to his Soundcloud page under the name Humberto V New Reactionaries. The mix was inspired by hardcore bands such as Black Flag and Bad Brains as well as trap, the aggressive strand of hip-hop made popular by the likes of Gucci Mane and Wacka Flocka Flame.
Mike D and Ad-Rock have reportedly signed a deal to release their memoirs in 2015.
The book comes following the two remaining members of the Beastie Boys signing a deal with Random House imprint, Spiegel & Grau. The New York Times reports that the book is currently untitled and that it is unlikely to follow the structure of a traditional biography, focusing instead on a "pastiche of voices, images, irreverent humor and pop-culture reference points".
Beastie Boys member Ad Rock is set to perform in public for the first time since the death of bandmate MCA.
Ad Rock - aka Adam Horovitz - will DJ tonight (June 12) at Death by Audio in Brooklyn, New York at a fundraising event for the Russian punk band Pussy Riot, reports Rolling Stone.

Yauch, who was also known as MCA, was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and succumbed to the disease earlier this month, aged 47.
The rapper, who grew up in New York and lived there throughout his life, was honoured by the city's state senate on Tuesday [May 15].
