Van Morrison Scores Highest Ever Album Chart Placing

[b]Van Morrison[/b] has just scored his highest UK album chart placing in his 40 year career.

His greatest hits package 'Still On Top' went in at number two, in the charts revealed yesterday (October 28).

'Still on Top - The Greatest Hits' is Morrison's third compilation album to be released this year. Released as double album with 37 tracks, the collection contains his biggest hits from 1964, when he was frontman with [b]Them[/b] through to his 2005 album 'Magic Time'.

A single disc 21 track version is due to be released in the US next week on November 6.

Other new entries in the UK album chart are led by [b]The Hoosiers[/b] who go straight in at number one with their debut album 'The Trick To Life'.

[b]Neil Young[/b]'s 'Chrome Dreams II' entered the charts at number 14, Santana with 'Ultimate' at 16, [b]Michael Ball[/b] with 'Back To Bacherach' at 20, [b]Orson[/b] with 'Culture Vultures' at 25, System of a Down's Serj Tankian with 'Elect The Dead' at 26 and the [b]Stylistics[/b] with 'Very Best Of' at number 32.
