The ex-Beatles set to play in the European Capital of Culture 2008
[b]Paul McCartney[/b] and [b]Ringo Starr[/b] are set to perform at a set of special concerts to mark [b]Liverpool[/b]’s status as the [b]European Capital of Culture 2008[/b].
[b]McCartney[/b] and his band will headline [b]“The Liverpool Sound”[/b], a concert to be held at [b]Anfield Football Stadium[/b] on June 1, featuring other “global superstars” yet to be announced.
[b]Starr[/b] will participate in [b]“Liverpool The Musical”[/b], a one-off performance on January 12, held as part of the city’s three-day opening celebrations.
The production will feature famous songs from [b]Liverpool[/b]’s history rearranged by the [b]Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra[/b], and stars [b]Echo And The Bunnymen[/b], [b]Ian Broudie[/b], [b]Pete Wylie[/b] and [b]Dave Stewart[/b] alongside the ex-[b]Beatle[/b].
