This week sees the singer release her anticipated eighth album 'Theology.' A double disc album with eight new songs, half sees Sinead's startling voice backed with stripped down acoustic guitar. Disc two has the full band treatment, featuring a huge array of musicians with production from Ron Tom.
'Theology' also features specially reworked covers including Curtis Mayfield's 'We People Who Are Darker Than Blue', 'I Don't Know How To Love Him' from the musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar', and the spiritual 'Rivers of Babylon.'
Talking about the new album O'Connor comments that: "'Theology' is an attempt to create a place of peace in a time of war. It is my own personal response to what has taken place and is affecting everyone around the world since and including September 11, 2001. I simply wanted to make a beautiful thing which inspires me.”
