
One of glam rock’s most iconic figures, Marc Bolan is commemorated through a new DVD at the end of the month. ‘Ride On’, released on April 25, tells the life-story of the T-Rex frontman through exclusive interviews and performance footage of his public and private life from his early days growing up in East London, through to his tragic death in 1977.
The DVD explores his early modelling career, his first forays into rock'n'roll and his well-documented feud with David Bowie. Ride On is his story as told by his life-long friends and features exclusive interviews with Gloria Jones, his long-term girlfriend, DJ Bob Harris, musician Steve Harley, The Damned’s Captain Sensible and his publicist Keith Altham.
Classic T-Rex hits such as ‘Get It On’, ‘Hot Love’, ‘Life’s A Gas’ and ‘Jeepster’ are also featured along with along with never before seen footage and exclusive clips of him presenting a six-part pop show for Granada Television, where he performs for the last time with Bowie. There is also a reconstruction of his final tragic night.
