Ms Jade - Girl Interrupted

"People look at me wrong, because I'm so different," says Ms Jade at one point. More likely, they're wondering where they've heard her before. Timbaland's new protégé rides his tech beats with ease, but there's no charisma in her competence, and she's hindered by an inability to go beyond the standard' tough chick' persona.

Girl Interrupted is best when it's just that, boosted by her collaborators (Timbaland and Nelly Furtado on the blazing "Ching Ching", Jay-Z on"Count It Off"). Ultimately, Jade lacks the glitter to turn these 24-carat beats into anything more than semi-precious material.
