John Lennon's Solo Catalogue Goes On Sale At ITunes

John Lennon's solo work is finally available to download from iTunes - with 16 albums' worth of material going online.

Apple today began to place a bunch of the Beatle's solo material into the iTunes store. The "Lennon Legend" and "Acoustic" comps are released digitally for the very first time.

There's also a special offer for the next 30 days which bundles "exclusive video content" with the albums "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band", "Sometime in New York City" "Walls And Bridges", "Milk And Honey" and the collections "Anthology" and "Working Class Hero".

Yoko Ono dutifully talked up the release, noting that, "John would have loved the fact that his music will now be available in a format suited to a new generation of listeners."

Meanwhile Apple CEO Steve Jobs weighed in auspiciously. "John Lennon is one of the greatest artists of our time. We’re thrilled to have his solo catalogue available on the iTunes Store for the first time."
