John Lennon Festival Begins In The Scottish Highlands

The [b]John Lennon Northern Lights Festival[/b] has begun in remote north-west [b]Scotland[/b] today.

The three-day event, which features a mixture of music and poetry, takes place in the village of [b]Durness[/b], in an area where [b]Lennon[/b] used to go on holiday as a child.

As well as featuring a talk by the late [b]Beatle[/b]’s half-sister [b]Julia Baird[/b], the weekend boasts performances from [b]King Creosote[/b], [b]John Cooper Clarke[/b] and [b]Carol Ann Duffy[/b].

German [b]Beatles[/b] tribute act [b]Lucy In The Sky[/b] are also set to perform at the event, which has a capacity of only 1,100 people.
